[WVDXA] ATTN: W8UV - RE: (DX Dinner Tickets)

Rick,

      Well, I "guess" you could just show up and "maybe" someone would hand 
you a ticket but that really doesn't sound too likely, now does it?  The 
way this big-time DX'ing stuff usually goes is that FIRST you need to 
"know" someone who can "help" you in your pursuit.  Then, IF you are deemed 
to be one of the "deserving", good DX things happen to you.

      Now since I see your picture on the WVDXA web page, (in a tuxedo, no 
less!) that tells me that you are indeed, one of the "deserving."  And, 
since you are a proud, dues-paying member of the WVDXA, have contributed to 
club activities, participated in the chat page while pursuing the elusive 
DX, and are generally recognized to be an all-around good guy, I can assure 
you that a ticket to the DX Dinner, in your name, is in my personal 
possession.  I can either mail it to you tomorrow or hand it to you at the 
DX Dinner.  Your choice.

      Here is a list of those WVDXA Members for whom I am presently holding

      Anyone on this list who would like me to send them (or deliver) their

      I received those tickets from Phil, W8UV, last week.  And, for Greg: 
Phil put a note on the list of tickets he sent to me (which originally 
included one for you) which next to your call said "Sent to NF4A."  Also, 
Phil had posted a note to this reflector on April 30 which said:

      So, Greg, I would assume that Phil did indeed send that ticket to 
Charles sometime last week.  I only have the 12 tickets mentioned above.

      I hear that some folks thought that the Hamvention was THIS weekend 
but actually, it is not until NEXT weekend.  I'm very much looking forward 
to seeing the big WVDXA turnout at the DX Dinner on Friday, May 16th, at 
the Crowne Plaza Hotel in downtown Dayton, OH.  See you there.
