This morning I was copying him pretty well from 1030 UTC (about half hour after your post Alan) and called solid for about 40 minutes.? He built to a 579 here. He would ask JAs to QRX for "NA" and apparently he just was having a difficult time copying because I know I could hear dozens of strong stations here in the U.S. calling him on 40m.? He worked a few but would always go back to working the JA's.?But he?would listen?for what seemed like forever before?finally picking out a callsign. I don't know if they are plagued with?noise there but whoever the op was, he?seemed to be struggling.??I believe he may?have worked 10-12 U.S. stations in about a?half?hour period that I could hear.? ?I had to finally give up?to go in to work but he wasn't exactly racking up the Qs with anyone.? I will try again in the a.m.?but that is the only time I have even had a chance to call 'em.? My observation is for whatever reason they are apparently avoiding the East coast like the plague on A1 mode.

Gang,
?
They're on 7.007.9 now running JA's.? He's about a 449 here.? A few stateside stations calling him but only working JA's (and of course, I can't here them).
?
Alan
