Garry, thanks for the info.  Glad I have not bothered any of the CQ'ing US stations by answering their DX call. 
 
I finally heard TO5E a few minutes ago on SSB.  Had a clear shot to call him, and took 3 shots.  He came back and said I was too weak to copy.  
 
The loudest I heard TO5E was when first tuning across him. Might have had a shot when his signal was peaking. Couldn't find my microphone; it had fallen between the seat and the center console. 
You can tell I don't work much SSB from the mobile.  By the time I found and grabbed my mike, his signal was substantially down, but still 100%.   
 
I am surprised by all the EU that folks seem to be working on Es.   You can bet I will be putting up a yagi.

"CQ DX" on six meters generally seems to mean the same as it does on HF bands - looking for someone outside the caller's own DX entity.  Not very many years ago any Es was considered DX by many, but anymore there is lots of real DX available from time to time so "CQ DX" callers are looking to add to their total of entities.

If folks are calling CQ DX, are they looking only for DX countries, or does DX on 6M include any station that is worked by Es, F2, etc, including US?
