OK, I've about worked J5C on all the bands and modes that I can. And all
with just wire antennas!
I heard him on 40-M RTTY tonight and decided to see if I could get the
station configured for RTTY and get a contact. It took me about an hour to
configure the software and interface it to the rig. Things are not working
the way I would like them to but the bottom line is that I managed an RTTY
QSO with J5C for a new one on that mode.
I now have J5C on 160-M, 80-M, 40-M, 30-M, 20-M, and 17-M - CW, SSB, and
RTTY. I guess I'll try and get up in the morning and look for a 15-M QSO
but that will probably be all I can do without any HF antennas.
This QSL will probably cost me the least (per QSO) of any I'll send out this
year.
Isn't it amazing what you can do with a few pieces of wire? The only two
antennas I have are the "Famous 160-M Inverted-L" and an 80-M Inverted-V. I
was using the 80-M Inverted-V for this RTTY QSO on 40-M.
