Gang, 
     I had the rig on the VP6DX 10 meter SSB freq all  day today.  Waiting 
for 10 to open up.  When he did creep up out the  noise to a 5x9, I worked him.  
Then I worked him for our local club (w8sp)  and then it dawned on me:  my 
daughter (KD8EBJ), who is a tech class, can  also work them.  So I ran upstairs 
and told her they were in her portion of  the band and workable.  After 
several calls, she finally worked them  too.  I hope that contact helps to light a 
fire under her, to get her  general now. She's had fun on 6 meters but I told 
her that VP6DX was a REAL DX  catch.  She was delighted.
 
I should have realized last week that there was the possibility of her  being 
able to work them.  The little light in my head didn't go on  until almost 
too late.
