[WVDXA] I am a happy camper

I just got home following an evening commitment but earlier this
evening before leaving the house and having arrived from work with only
about 20-minutes to "kill," I saw the VP6DX spots on 10 and thought I
would fire up the rig and take a listen. Sure enough I could hear the
VP6 on 10 CW. I let the amp warm up and then called. The SWR looked
out of whack an so I looked at my antenna situation and realized I was
loading into the 80m loop. Presto, switcho and I was in business. That
brought their signal up substantially and in a couple calls I had 'em
in the log at 2302Z. Hey, let's see how good the signal is up in the
phone band... sure enough he is calling "CQ" and not getting a response
from anyone. So I call him and have him in the log on 10m SSB at
2305UTC. Now I saw a spot on 12 meters and I haven't worked 'em there
yet so I QSY and can just hear the VP6 on frequency calling "CQ". He's
not even moving my S-meter. I wasn't sure he would copy me but called
a couple times and lo and behold I had him in the log for 12 SSB at
2307Z. "Not bad," I thought, "3 band modes in 5 minutes." Adrenalin
was kicked up a notch and I was smiling when I left the house for the
evening. Ahhhhh, DX Still IS!
73 es have great w/e WVDXERs!

I now have them on all phone bands 160-10m. Maybe CW next week after
the 160m SSB contest.
