Dave,

I certainly agree with everything yousaid. I find I can run full-out for 2 to 3 hours but then I want abreak. The "fun factor" keeps me going late at night andadrenaline will make sleeping difficult. But, grinding out theQSO's hour after hour is no longer as much fun as it used to be.

I've always been an S&P kind of guy ratherthan a "run" guy. And, CW is not my forte but I'm gettingbetter at it.

Yes, you were certainly lucky with the way thedates fell this weekend. Hope you have a Happy Anniversary.

I got really pumped up over your multi-singlesuggestion. I used to travel to Colorado for the CQ WW DX Phoneevery year in a multi-single and loved it. I'm willing to offer upmy station for next fall or spring and we can really do it upright. I have two spare bedrooms (one with a Queen and one with 2singles) so out-of-towners can be comfortable. Yep, you lit a firethere my friend. OK, I've got you down as Operator No. 1. Iassume you will go with either CW or a Phone contest, right? Or, doyou have a preference?

We'll get Hal to order up a new batch of W8AHQSL's and Dave can lay in a new supply of pens for filling outcards. Scratch that, we can print labels just like the big boys -I've got the software. Hoy, boy! I'll never get to sleeptonight. You started the old brain down a new track.

     Who else wants in?

Clark,

When approaching geezerdom, the key is to run sprints instead of running
the marathon. I did a lot of search and pounce work andinterspersed
that stuff with an hour or two of runs on 20 and 40m. I had anumber of
60 per hour runs but also had run hours of 82, 103 and 111 QSOs. I
didn't get up early on Saturday but I hit the floor at about 6:45 local
time this morning.

Luckily, Leila was off this weekend so I didn't have to run her back and
forth to work. It worked out nicely that our wedding anniversary is
tomorrow and didn't fall on the contest weekend.

I really gave some thought to doing a serious effort Father Time tempted
me with offers of hot grub and a comfy bed.

For the ultimate in fun and relaxation, maybe we could do a multi-single
from someone's QTH in future and blow the dust off the W8AH call.

Dave K8MN
