Clark,

When approaching geezerdom, the key is to run sprints instead of running 
the marathon.  I did a lot of search and pounce work and interspersed 
that stuff with an hour or two of runs on 20 and 40m.  I had a number of 
60 per hour runs but also had run hours of 82, 103 and 111 QSOs.  I 
didn't get up early on Saturday but I hit the floor at about 6:45 local 
time this morning.

Luckily, Leila was off this weekend so I didn't have to run her back and 
forth to work.  It worked out nicely that our wedding anniversary is 
tomorrow and didn't fall on the contest weekend.

I really gave some thought to doing a serious effort Father Time tempted 
me with offers of hot grub and a comfy bed.

For the ultimate in fun and relaxation, maybe we could do a multi-single 
from someone's QTH in future and blow the dust off the W8AH call.
