[WVDXA] Fun, Fun, Fun!

Well, the ARRL CW Contest is now history. I did not enter it planning to
make a score (hard to do with only an 80-M Inverted-V and the Monster-L for
an antenna farm.) But, I thought I'd get to improve my CW skills a bit and
have some fun. Well, fun was definitely there in droves.

Here is my final score:

  Band QSOs Pts Cty
   1.8 23 69 18
   3.5 18 54 17
     7 22 66 21
    14 61 183 56
    21 14 42 12
 Total 138 414 124
Score: 51,336

Working 56 countries on 20-M with the Monster-L as the antenna was a total
trip! I worked from Japan to Antarctica with very little trouble.

A good way to tell how well you are getting out is the number of CQ Zones
you work. Here is my Zone list (using only two Wire Antennas!):

 Band Zones
   1.8 09
   3.5 09
     7 08
    14 18
    21 07
Total different Zones = 20 (Note: NO Zone 2, 3 or 4)

Some of my "highlights" were: working New Zealand on 15-M (8,900 miles) with
my FIRST CALL to a station who was running 100 watts, working Japan and
Antarctica on 20-M just two minutes apart, running 12 stations in the last
11 minutes of the contest by Search and Pounce on 40-M including YO and LZ,
and working VP6DX, Ducie, on FIVE bands!

Yes, it was a very interesting weekend. I hope all WVDXA members had great
fun in whatever you did this weekend as well.
