Hey Phil,

I can only compare the receive quietness to other Yaesu rigs and a Ten-Tec Argonaut V that I have presently, but I would say yes it is a quiet.? I often have power line noise at my Qth and the noise blanker eliminates it all together.? I keep the NB on all the time.? It also has a good DSP unit and a Noise reduction control that works well.? When all three are used simultaniously, weak signals come right up out of noise.

Hope this is of some benefit to you.

Tnx Ron,

Is the Ft920 a quiet receiver? Some say it was designed to be very quiet and very sensitive .Does the noise blanker work well?

Hey Phil,

I have been using the FT920 for several years now.? It has worked very well for me on Six Meters.? I only operate CW, so I have no experience with SSB or FM.
?
This has really been a great radio for me.
