The TARA Club has scheduled a special event on Saturday, November 3 to
celebrate the induction that day of people into the WV Broadcasting Hall of Fame
(including Little Jimmy Dickens, who plans to be there). But TARA is having
trouble finding enough operators among its members to fill the slots. The special
event runs from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. back in the radio museum's hamshack. A
certificate will be sent to those working the station.

I can't do it because I am involved in the ceremony and have several duties
in the auditorium prior to and during the induction.

TARA's president Don Haddox called me asking if I could help find some
operators outside the club and I told him the WV DX Association had a bunch of good
operators who often love to do this kind of thing. The idea is to talk up the
museum's involvement with the Broadcasting Hall of Fame, and all the famous
WV broadcasters - like Don Knotts, Peter Marshall, Chuck Woolery, Grandpa
Jones, Dagmar, Soupy Sales, Bob Denver (Gilligan) - network news correspondents Ed
Rabel, Bob Orr, Neil Boggs - sportscasters Jack Fleming, Jay Randolph - and 90
others who have been or are being inducted.

Any of you care to help out?

By the way, A WVDXA member, Tim Day, K8VD, is the one running this special
event. He's out of state right now, but I know he'd appreciate the help.

Garry, W8OI
