Congratulations Alan!  Yes, you have discovered the 2nd "P" of DXing-- 
PERSISTENCE.  I have probably shared this on the Reflector before but I 
wrote an article several years ago about the 3 "P"s  of DXing.  Just 
one of those Basic Truth kind of things:
1. PATIENCE
2. PERSISTENCE
3. POWER
And this my ranking for each as well.  The "Power" component includes 
antenna gain as well as output power.

Now, go work another NEW ONE!  And have a great w/e!

But I worked H40MY @ 2142Z on 18.085 Mhz

 

Mike's been showing up there every day or so.  I finally caught him on.

 

ITS A NEW ONE FOR ME !  #321 (317 of the active ones)

 

What really amazed me was, I lost many, many hours of sleep getting up 
early and looking for him and he was usually on while I was at work.  I 
rushed home after work and I only had 30 mins. of "window of 
opportunity" to work him".  (Had to go to a radio club meeting)  And it 
only took 5 mins. of listening and positioning myself in the pile up.  
And bang !  Just when I didn't expect to work him, it happened.  
PERSISTANCE does work wonders.

 

I guess you can tell, I am a little bit excited about this.  Sorry 
Jeff, I didn't have time to call you on this one.
