Sounds like a mid-east scaffold reef without the scaffold.  And maybe  a bit 
warmer today.
 
 

In fact,  my qsl has both names on  it.  Abu-Ail and Jabal et-Tair.
At that time it was a navigation beacon /  Lighthouse run by the British 
under contract from the Yemeni.
