[WVDXA] CQ-WW DX Contest

I'm trying to get back in the swing of things after a period of very
little activity.

With my rotator jammed and the beam pointing somewhere in the South
Atlantic, I was stuck with the ground mounted Gap vertical as my only
functional antenna, so I did a two band effort:

80m - 89 Qs - 15 zones - 47 countries
40m - 174 Qs - 20 zones - 75 countries

Total score111,470

Overall I was reasonably pleased with the antenna's performance on 40. I
could work just about everything I could hear. However, when I was
listening to the big guns running EU I could not hear a lot of the
stations they were working.

On 80 it was OK for the big DX guns but there were instances where
stations were not hearing me even when nobody else was calling. A little
more power might have helped that (I was only running 100 watts)

I didn't even try 160. The Gap is pretty much useless over distances
more than about 1,000 miles.

Gotta get the rotator and the beam fixed now that the sunspots have
hopefully bottomed out for this cycle.
