Thanks Alan,
Actually, I have an ARRL carbon copy manuscript of the article that belonged to Al, W8PQQ at that time. That was how they had to prepare an article for publication back then using this carbon template provided by the League. I was just wanting to verify that it actually was published in QST.
Of course, Bill Orr became quit famous in his own right as an author of many technical books and articles. I think Al served with him in Europe after the war. Their DX-pedition to Andorra was actually a bootleg operation and they created their own callsign including their own special prefix. Sure was different in those days.
Thanks again for checking and verifying that for me Alan. Having W8JM's QST collection is pretty good too!

Hal,
I've got the October, 1951 QST article right here. Al's call must have
been W8PQQ at that time. I've not read the complete article yet, but if you
would want a copy, I can try to make one at work next week. My copy is of
that issue is in great shape but as you can imagine, it is a little fragile.
Just a point of interest, I have W8JM, Don Morris' QST collection. I
believe I only miss 4 or 5 months of QST back to 1922. 1921 is fairly sparse.
