Folks,
Garry Ritchie's W8OI wife Nancy called me this morning as I was getting
ready to leave for work and told me that Garry fell yesterday evening and
sustained several injuries. He is currently at Cabell Huntington
Hospital. He was in ER most of the night. Nancy says Garry broke the
bone in his left arm up at the shoulder and the break is perpendicular to
the bone. He also broke his jaw and sustained lacerations of the
face/mouth that required sutures. Doctors will be reviewing his case to
determine appropriate procedures for the arm and jaw. Surgery will be
forthcoming. Nancy said Garry was worried about WVDXA's participation
next Saturday at the Museum as he normally makes the arrangements. She
suggested I contact Dwight WB8JPJ or Bill Mason W8OP. But I told her to
be sure to tell Garry not to worry about this a bit. You all know how
Garry is and so this is on his mind. I will call Nancy later this evening
to get an update or, if anyone finds out more info that you can share,
please do so. Nancy is doing fine but obviously has had a long night.
Please keep Garry in your thoughts and prayers as well as the doctors who
will be working on him during the next day or so.
