Subject: WVDXA DX-travaganza and Istallation Meeting and Bar B' Cue

Hi Bernie,
I apologize for the late notice on this but I am sure you are hearing
all the "buzz" out there in the DX world about this Saturday's Bar B'
Cue and summer kick off meeting of the West Viriginia DX Association
(W8AH) www.wvdxa.org . And I am sure by now you aware that Clark
Stewart W8TN, West Virginia's DX-traordinaire, will be installed as the
new President of our WVDXA replacing yours truly. According to at
least one member of WVDXA, "Clark will be a breath of fresh air to our
group." He handily won the election running on a solemn vow to, "Let
them eat cake." He was unopposed. Actually, he was railroaded but all
in all, was a great sport about the whole ordeal.

In addition to Clark's installation ceremonies, some limited club
business activity (we are trying to determine if we need to roll back
the dues to $150 per year) and the picnic, we plan to use the balance
of this DX-travaganza to celebrate the successes of several of our
members who were fortunate enough to make QSOs with the BS7H. I think
we will have at least 3 new #1 DXCC Honor Rollers amongst us as a
result of the BS7H operation, most notably WVDXA charter member Bob
Hall W8QHG. Bob is 90-years young and is credited with being the guy
that introduced Al Hix W8AH to amateur radio back in 1935. So the
Museum of Radio and Technology here in Huntington (
http://oak.cats.ohiou.edu/~postr/MRT/ ) will certainly be shuck'n and
jive'n with Saturday's festivities. It serves as the perfect location
for this much anticipated event.

Another highlight will be the food that our members are busy preparing
for this feast. We are especially anxious to savor the curried opossum
dish that Bob Anthony WA8VPN is bringing. Yes Bernie, this is indeed
the very recipe that Bharathi VU2RBI shared with Bobby. They became
quite close friends during the 2004 Andaman operation. Some have even
suggested she and Bobby had a daily schedule on 20-meters. So yes, we
are looking forward to the ethnic cuisine but were disappointed to
learn that John W8WEJ will not be bringng any ramps this year. Iit is
hoped he will stop and pick up at least one tenderized road kill on the
drive down from Vienna, WV. I swear Bernie, I am starting to drool
just thinking about it.

And so, again I know this is late notice, we just thought if you didn't
have any plans Saturday, you might want to hop in the Daily DX
corporate jet and join us for one heck of a great time, some of the
best food this side of the Appalachian Highlands and felllowship with
some of best DXers east of the Mississippi. We might even let you go
back for seconds on that curried opossum. Oh, we have gotten word that
Mac W8XF won't be able to attend this year... so you'd be safe.

73 es DX of course!
Hal W8HC Outgoing President of WVDXA (at least they tell me I'm an
outgoing kinda guy)
