[WVDXA] WVDXA Meeting/Picnic Saturday

After reading your note I called and invited Joe and Mary Shank.  He's  W8QY 
and he worked BS7H for his next to last one (like you he just needs N.  Korea 
now).  You met them at our our house.
 
They were delighted.  They will come and will bring a fruit  salad.  She has 
to be at another event at 10 and may be late to our affair  but Joe will be 
there on time with the fruit salad.
 
Maybe we'll get a new member.  He won't mind the $150 annual dues, ya  think?

Guys,

In less than 43 hours we will  convene a mid-day meeting of the West Virginia 
DX Association to top all  previous such meetings!  This will truly be an 
affair to remember.   I can feel the excitement building moment by moment.  Even 
the  redoubtable Steph has stated, "I guess I'll go."  Obviously even she has  
seized upon the true import of this confab and will make her way to the 
Museum  of Radio and Technology in Huntington at noon on Saturday to enjoy the  
festivities with the rest of us.

At this hour  I have noted the following 16 people who have stated they plan 
to attend and  bring with them the listed items:

W8HC & Steph
WA8VPN - Curried  Opossum  


K4OM - Salad Tray
WA8WV & XYL - cake and  stuff for hot dogs and hamburgers
W8ZT
W8OP - Homemade hot dog sauce  & potato salad
W8OI & Nancy - Baked beans & dessert
W8WEJ -  Chips instead of Ramps
W8TN - Cake & soda pop
W8QHG &  Evelyn
KC8UHE - Home-made Chocolate Chip Cookies and  soda
W8DL


If you know of anyone  else who will be gracing us with their presence, 
PLEASE make that known either  to me directly or here on the reflector so that the 
renowned WVDXA chefs can  secure the appropriate amount of vittles.  The club 
will be providing hot  dogs, hamburgers and buns.

Also, if you want  to have your QSL's checked for DXCC purposes, I sincerely 
urge you to take  advantage of the fact that the ONLY two current Top of the 
Honor Roll members  of the WVDXA (who are both ARRL Card Checkers) will be in 
attendance and will  be available to check your cards for DXCC.  Don't pass up 
this  opportunity as it will NEVER come again!
