Greg,
I'm not Hal or Dave but I can answer this. Once you have a QSL
checked by the ARRL and it is credited to your DXCC account, you do NOT
have to have it checked again for any DXCC award, including 6-M DXCC. It
becomes a part of your DXCC Account the first time it is checked and you
can use it for other awards at any time. For example, if you submit a QSL
for an 80-M CW contact with England as a part of your initial DXCC 100
QSL's to get your basic Mixed DXCC, then you can use that same "credit" at
a later time toward an 80-M DXCC award, a CW DXCC award, the Challenge
Award, or a 5BDXCC without having to re-submit the QSL.
When the ARRL DXCC Department checks your QSL, it is just a "credit"
to your account. How you use that "credit" for what award later is up to
you. If you had "credits" at the DXCC Desk that had already been checked
before they even began the Challenge Award, then you could apply them to
that award which didn't even exist when you had the card checked. The only
exception is back many years ago they just checked the card for the country
and the mode, not the band. So, I'm having to submit 35-year old QSL's now
for my Challenge Award which I had previously submitted in the 1970's for
my original DXCC.
Congratulations on your progress toward 6-M DXCC. Let's hope the
sunspots start up again soon so you can chop off another dozen or so new
ones quickly.
