You're right, of course, Don.  That didn't make it any easier for those 
of us who needed Vietnam or Thailand or the others.  The situation prior 
to U.S. entry into WWII was not the same.

The fact is, most Arab countries with amateur radio licensees prohibit 
amateur radio contact with Israel.  That has been the norm for decades.
I'm not debating the fairness, just pointing out the reality.
