Looks like I will miss all the fun. I have to go to the funeral home. sorry I sure would have enjoyed it. I did make the first one and have the J-38 ready.

Garry,
I have been gone almost all day so I just read your email. I think it might be good to use 40-M for the "far-flung" WVDXA members but maybe 80-M will work better for those "close in."
So, I propose the following:
December 31, 2007 (That's TODAY folks!)
2nd Annual (?) Running of the
WVDXA Straight Key/Glowbug Night
Begin on 80-M then move to 40-M for DX!
0030 GMT (Jan. 1st) = 7:30 p.m. EST (Dec. 31)
3.565 MHz + / - QRM
0100 GMT (Jan. 1st) = 8:00 p.m. EST (Dec. 31)
7.030 MHz + / - QRM
Call "CQ AH" (for W8AH the club call)
Use your Glowbug rigs (hollow state) if you have
them and can get on the above frequencies.
Use your Straight Key (or bare wires) -
thus the speed will be SLOW CW.
Minimum exchange is a signal report.
More "exchange" if you want.
Use the WVDXA Chat Page
<http://www.wvdxa.org/chat/>
for coordination.
BOTH 80-M and 40-M can be used if the number
of WVDXA members warrants that.
Event positively ENDS at 0200 GMT (9:00 p.m. EST)
Let's HAVE FUN and see how many WVDXA members we can contact!

Ok, guys.
I will shoot for being on the air at 0100 UTC (8 p.m. eastern), 7.030 plus or minus a few depending on QRM.
I'm better on 40 than 80 with my hamstick mobile antennas, but if anybody is afraid 40 won't work for in-state QSOs in WV, I can do that instead.
Whadaya think?
