Gentlemen/Gentlewomen
or
Gentlewomen/Gentlemen,

See lots of spots for ZL9R on the darkside of the Earth. They had a
fair signal on 80 c.w. and s.s.b. this morning
around sunrise, 0724 E.D.T. They were workable here as late
as 0800 E.D.T. I worked them on 3.795 at 0750 E.D.T.

Just after 0700, the 80 meter operator deceided to QSY to
160. Seems like he didn't have much success, because he was
back on 80 s.s.b. by 0730. Think he worked only a couple
of stations on 160 and guess not much luck with the Midwest
or West Coast. He actually started too late for contacts
east of the Mississippi. Noticed he was back on 160 after
0800 and making West Coast contacts.

I was after ZL8R on 160 c.w. So, I was up at 0230 E.D.T.
(30 minutes after ZL8 Sundown) listening for them. From
what the 40 s.s.b. operator was saying, they had a lot of
"when 160 questions". He said around 0400 E.D.T., they
might try 160 "later". He went on to say that they had
r.f.i. problems on other bands when the got on 160. He
said some of the other rigs would do "strange things"--
he didn't spell out details, but I can imagine what was
happening. To me it sounds like the had their antennas
very close together or they had grounding problems.

Anyway the 40 meter operator said the would "try" to be on
160 tomorrow night--meaning after 0200 Monday morning.
From the looks of the spots on the DX Cluster, it looks
like they might have their r.f.i. problems fixed.

Anyway, I'll be around 160 after 0200 E.D.T. Monday.
I need'em bad on Top Band for a New One. Other 160
buffs might try in the morning, too.

This might be the last shot at 160, since the last day
of operation in supposed to be the 17th.

Any comments please direct to my email address. Please don't
Top Post this message, since I know what it says and don't need
to read it again.

Have fun and Good DX de Jerry
