Alan,
Congratulations on snagging this one! I also enjoyed reading how you persisted and didn't let the bozos on frequency deter your efforts. There are obviously several lessons learned here but the bottom line is you hung in there and didn't get frustrated, shut the rig off and swear off DXing. This has happened a time or two, believe me. So tip of the hat to you Alan!
73,
Hal, W8HC/7

That's a great story, Alan, and the object is so true. Congratulations.

It was kinda funny. While everyone was bickering on frequency about
transmitting on top of a qso at 14.275. I was LISTENING to the VU7 operators
instructions and he kept changing his listening instructions. At one point he said
listening 14.263, I went there and worked him on 3rd call. Ten minutes
later, they were still pickering and I listened to the op's instructions and
worked him with our CLUB call (W8SP), first call. Hi.
If people would just keep their traps shut and listen to the operators, they
could work the DX. Patience, Yes and careful Listening Yes. Usually works.

We hope everyone had a Great Christmas and wish all a Happy New Year,
